There are 13 computerized Haemodialysis machines with facility for Bicarbonate Dialysis at Nagpur facility.

These units are monitored closely by various Monthly Information Sheets and Daily Technician Reports.

Morbidity in patients is monitored per month with specific focus on rigors, fever, accuracy of weight loss, etc.

The technicians report daily by sending the data online for checking by the supervisor. Any discrepancies are discussed and appropriate corrective and preventive actions are taken.

Regular monitoring of quality of water used is done as per AAMI (American Association of Medical Instrumentation) criteria. (Water is treated using RO plant)

All dialysis technicians undergo Induction program and orientation after which they are trained as per Core Curriculum for Haemodialysis technicians (United States). The technicians are then evaluated by a team of Nephrologists. A regular performance appraisal is done annually. Regular training programs are designed to impart continuing education to the technicians. All technicians are certified by the 1 year Certificate course or 2 years Diploma course by MSBTE, or 6 months Dialysis Technician Assistant course run under the aegis of Rashtra Sant Tukdoji Maharaj University Nagpur.

The patients are counseled by the technicians on various aspects including diet, medications prescribed by the Physician. Books are provided for the patients for increasing awareness and knowledge. Patients are counseled using Kidney School which is an online distance learning program for chronic kidney disease patients.

The patients are encouraged to give feedback and discuss various issues in get togethers held regularly. These are designed as breakfast meetings and games are conducted for positive reinforcement of wanted behaviour with Dietetic counseling and demonstration of Physical exercise program for patients.

Water is treated using an elaborate water treatment plant including RO unit, UV micron filters, cation, anion, sand filters, antiscalants and softner, sediment filter and sediment filters

Thus a holistic approach to patients and their treatment is used.
